Development of industry standards and compliance programs

The Americas Sector of the International Aerospace Quality Group — developing industry standards and compliance systems for aerospace quality systems
The Off-Highway Standards Consortium — providing necessary resources for the off-highway industry to continue its role as a viable player in developing and approving ISO standards

Management Programs

Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA) — established to enhance professionalism and recognition of the Aviation Maintenance Technician for continuous improvement in aviation safety. Through this program, PAMA hopes to reduce the amount of aviation maintenance that is outsourced and increase the number of individuals pursuing careers in aviation maintenance for the commercial aerospace industry as well as the military.

Professional Certification

Through a partnership with the Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA), the SAE Institute hopes to improve quality standards and training for aviation mechanics and technical workers. Programs including technical assessments and certifications, professional development and continuing education for products, people or systems across all mobility industry sectors.

PAMA/SAE Institute Aviation Maintenance Certification — validates technical knowledge and skills and builds upon FAA-established minimum standards of safety.

Industry Solutions

The Off-Road Vehicle Identification Number (PIN/WMC) System — a standards consortium and a database for managing VIN numbers for off-road recreational machines.
